 Description of Clean-up Event:

This event will teach participants about the impact of nurdles on the local environment and how to conduct nurdle surveys based on the procedure established by Nurdle Patrol. Following this introduction, participants will have the option to continue to collect nurdles, or to remove other litter and marine debris from the shoreline. This event will not only remove plastic pollution from the environment, but also to serve as a mechanism for informal education on the importance of proper waste disposal.

We would ask that you register through the portal set up by Galveston Bay Foundation clicking here so that we have an accurate headcount to have the right resources available for the event this day.

We will be following CDC guidelines and any local mandates that are in place during this events. At this time, it is encouraged that people maintain at least 6’ of social distance with members outside of their direct household. We will provide hand sanitizer for all participants.

Please wear closed-toed shoes to this event. We recommend wearing long pants and applying sunscreen and bug repellent to keep yourself protected throughout the event.

All tools including trash pickers, gloves, and bags will be provided.

We will provide breakfast for all participants. If you have any specific dietary needs and plan to attend please reach out to Glenda Vick to let her know.

We are working to get Volunteer t-shirts made and available for those team members that have not yet received a t-shirt. If you need one, click here to fill out a short form for one.
